Choose between snapshots and automatic backups to protect your Cloud VPS, and add block storage when your server needs more disk space.

Many customers use both: daily backups for peace of mind, and a snapshot before every big change.
Activate: open your VPS → Add-ons and choose a snapshot storage plan. A snapshot's size depends on how much data is on your server, not on its disk size — most customers find 40 GB comfortable.
Take a snapshot: open Management → Snapshots and click Take New Snapshot.
Restore: click Restore next to a snapshot. The server returns to exactly that moment.
Activate: open your VPS → Add-ons → Activate Automated Backups. Your first backup appears within 24 hours.
Manage: open Management → Backups. Click Run Manual Backup for an extra backup at any time, or Restore to roll the server back.
Warning: Restoring a snapshot or backup replaces everything on the server with the saved copy. Anything changed after it was taken is lost. Take a new snapshot first if you might need the current state.
When your server needs more disk space, add block storage:
Storage costs $0.22 per GB per month, with a minimum of $4.99 per month. You can add more later.
Note: New block storage is a separate disk. After it is attached, format and mount it inside your server before use.
