Add another APEX workspace to your plan

Last reviewed: October 4, 2026 Applies to: APEX Shared 1 min read

Create additional APEX workspaces for separate projects, up to your plan's limit, directly from the client area — each with its own schema and login.

Why add a workspace

Each APEX Shared plan includes a number of workspaces. Extra workspaces are useful when you want to keep projects apart — for example, one for a client and another for testing — each with its own database schema.

All workspaces on a service share that plan's tablespace and web space.

Create a workspace

  1. Sign in to the client area, open Services and select your APEX service.
  2. Find the Additional Workspaces card. Its title shows how many you are using, for example (1 / 3).
  3. Click + Create Additional Workspace.
  4. After a few seconds, refresh the page. The new workspace appears in the list with its name and password.

Sign in to the new workspace

Each additional workspace is listed with its own details:

  • APEX login: your account email address, with that workspace's name and password.
  • SQL Developer / Toad login: the workspace's schema name and password.

Click Show or Copy to see the password.

Plan limit reached?

When the card shows Plan limit reached — upgrade for more, you are using all the workspaces your plan includes. To get more, move to a larger plan — see Upgrade, renew or cancel a service.

Note: You can only add workspaces while your service is Active.
