Use your own domain or subdomain for your APEX applications. Add it in the Domains tab, point its DNS to us, and it connects with a free SSL certificate.
Instead of the address we give you when your service is set up, your users can reach your applications at your own domain, for example app.example.com or example.com. Every domain you connect gets a free SSL certificate, set up and renewed automatically.
The number of domains you can connect depends on your plan. The Domains tab shows how many you are using, for example 2 of 4 used.
app.example.com, and click Add domain. If the domain already points to your service, it connects straight away. Otherwise it is listed as Waiting for DNS, and the card Point your domain here shows the DNS records to add.
Add the records shown in Point your domain here wherever your domain's DNS is managed — usually your registrar or DNS provider. Your existing email and other records stay as they are.
| You are connecting | Record to add |
|---|---|
A subdomain, such as app.example.com |
A CNAME record to the server name shown on the page |
A main domain, such as example.com |
The A record(s) shown on the page — or an ALIAS / ANAME record to the server name, if your DNS provider offers one |
www for a main domain (optional) |
A CNAME record to the server name. When present, it is included in the SSL certificate. |
Before you save:
Tip: A CNAME keeps working even if our server address changes, so prefer it wherever you can.
We check waiting domains every hour and connect them as soon as their DNS is ready — or click Check DNS to check now. When a domain is connected:
Once connected, your domain works with all the usual APEX addresses:
| Address | Opens |
|---|---|
https://your-domain/ |
Your landing page (you choose it) |
https://your-domain/apex/apex |
The APEX workspace sign-in |
https://your-domain/apex/r/workspace/app |
One of your applications (friendly URL) |
Note: An application installed as an app (PWA) belongs to the domain it was installed from. After moving to a new domain, install it again from the new address.
Click Remove next to the domain and confirm. Visitors to that domain no longer reach your service. The address that came with your service is marked Main and cannot be removed.
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Still Waiting for DNS after you added the records | DNS changes can take a while to reach everyone — up to 24–48 hours for a change of nameservers. Check that the record points exactly to the value on the page, then click Check DNS. |
| Needs attention | The message under the domain explains what went wrong. Fix it, then click Try again. |
| Your plan's limit is reached | Remove a domain you no longer use, or upgrade your plan. |
| Anything else | Open a support ticket and include the domain name. |
